Special Land Use Committee Meeting
SMILE Station 8210 SE 13th Street, Portland, OR, United States7:00 - 7:05 PM: Introductions. 7:05 - 9:00 PM: Discuss the Better Housing by Design Project Proposed Draft Report to be released May 11 and list recommended testimony for the SMILE Board to consider adopting at their May 16 meeting. The Project is proposing to change the code for multifamily zones to increase allowable housing types, increase density, increase affordable housing, limit the size of buildings, change requirements for outdoor space, and improve building design. NEIGHBORHOOD CLEAN-UP
Westmoreland Park portland, OR, United States2018CleanUpFlyer Neighborhood Event designed to help clean up our neighborhood by allowing residents to clean out that yard, basement, garage at a reduced rate. It generates revenue for the neighborhood association which goes directly back into the neighborhood with programs such as The Easter Egg Hunt, Christmas Tree lighting, Sundae In The Park and for other youth or organizations group requests. We accept metal, yard debri, mixed waste, styrofoam, appliances and reusable household items. Look for very specific notifications of specifics in the Bee. SMILE Station 8210 SE 13th Street, Portland, OR, United States6:00 - 6:05 PM: Introductions. 6:05 - 6:55 PM: Discuss the Design Overlay Zones Amendments Draft Concept Report and outline recommended comments for the SMILE Board to consider adopting. The overlay applies to all of our commercial and multi-family zones. The Project is proposing to remove the overlay from single-dwelling zones, to change the thresholds that trigger requirements, to add preservation bonuses for ‘character’ buildings (our low commercial storefronts), and a new conceptual framework for design guidelines and community design standards (which are almost always used in our neighborhood).
