Please join your neighbors at Springwater Meadows (SE Marion between SE 9th and 8th – off the Springwater Trail) we’ll be weeding and mulching the native plants!  Please bring your own gloves and water.  Items always useful to bring if you have them:  wheelbarrows, pitchforks, rakes, shovels and buckets. Friends of Oaks Bottom (FOOB) is hosting another Nature Walk on Saturday, May 4th, from 9:00  a.m. to 12:00 p.m. We will be making a slow circle around the refuge on public trails identifying birds, other wildlife, and flora. Aspects of the natural history of the refuge will also be addressed. The FOOB Nature Walk leaders will be Joshua Meyers and John Sparks. The walk is approximately 2.8 miles and flat, with a short descent/ascent of Sellwood Bluff. There are restrooms in Sellwood Park, where we begin and end the walk, but none along the route. We're celebrating the grand reopening of our beloved SMILE Station which suffered devastating damage in the January ice storm.  Please stop by to see the wonderful transformation of this historic gem which has served as our neighborhood's civic center for decades.  Delicious refreshments will be served so don't miss it.
