SMILE Summer Music
And we are excited to announce our 2023 concerts!
All concerts are free and accessible, and music goes from 6:30 – 8:30 pm. We encourage our audience to patronize our neighborhood restaurants and food carts to enjoy some dinner and music! And feed the tip buckets … all money collected goes directly to the musicians.
July concerts are at the west side of SE Bidwell St @ SE 13th Ave, next to the Sellwood Market.
July 1: Chasing Ebenezer – World folk-rock with Celtic, African, & Middle East influences
July 8: Lloyd Jones Trio – Funky blues and roots music
July 22: Adlai Alexander – Bossa Nova, jazz, and 60s gems
July 29: Sellwood Jazz – Eclectic jazz & pop that will get you moving!
August concerts are in the Windermere Building parking lot at SE 16th Ave & SE Rural St.
Aug 5: The Roadless Travelers – Classic Rock with a psychedelic twist
Aug 12: The Eric Ching Trio – Straight ahead thru modern jazz
Aug 19: Sister Mercy – High energy R&B with powerhouse vocals
Aug 26: The Cider Janes – Harmony driven Americana originals and covers
Summer Free For All Concert in Sellwood Park!
And … like in 2022, SMILE is partnering with Portland Parks and Rec to present a Summer Free For All concert in Sellwood Park. This year it will be held on Saturday, July 15 and feature the Conjunto Alegre Latin Band! Music begins at 6:30 and there’ll be food vendors on site.
