The 2024 Neighborhood Clean-up Day will be held on
Saturday, May 18,
from 9am – 2pm at Westmoreland Park!

Each Spring, SMILE, in cooperation with Heiberg Garbage and Free Geek, sponsors an annual clean-up day. Residents can clean out their garages, attics, and basements and, for a small fee, leave their unwanted stuff at a drop-off point in Westmoreland Park.

What to bring:

  • Bring all your throw-away junk, clean dimensional wood, yard debris, appliances, tires, unwanted furniture, metal, aluminum, etc. (No styrofoam recycling this year!)
  • Free Geek personnel will be on-site for e-waste, assessment and processing (households only – no businesses).  A separate donation will be accepted for e-wasted.
  • There will be an on-site area to accept new/like new reusable items such as furniture, clothing and miscellaneous reusable items.

What NOT to bring:

Construction/demolition materials, styrofoam, any METRO prohibited material, including but not limited to:

food garbage, plaster, concrete, dirt, sheetrock, batteries or hazardous materials (paint, aerosol cans, liquids, etc.). Paint cans with lids off and dried paint are ok.  No materials possibly containing asbestos!
