Portland planners are developing new design standards and guidelines to ensure that new development along SW Macadam Avenue and around the southeast Sellwood bridgehead better relates to the (Willamette) riverfront area.  The first draft is available HERE.  Share your thoughts on how new riverfront development can be more inviting for residents and visitors alike at this meeting.

6:00 - 6:05 PM: Introductions. 6:05 - 6:15 PM: BPS, Main Street, Better Housing by Design, and DOZA updates. 6:15 - 7:15 PM: Residential Infill Project: Review and discuss Recommended Draft Report and outline SMILE testimony.  The Project reduces the size of buildings in single-dwelling zones, makes design changes, and fulfills most of the requirements of HB2001 by allowing up to 4 units per lot.   More information on the Project is at https://www.portlandoregon.gov/bps/67728 .  The deadline for testimony is tentatively when City Council holds hearings on January 15 and probably January 16.

Neighborhood resident and former US Fish and Wildlife biologist John Marshall will present information about contamination in Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge from the old land fill. Most of us love and cherish this natural area, and this is a great change to be informed about the health of the refuge and what we can do about it. Consider recommending support for a pilot project on Tacoma to reduce delays to Bus 99. Background: The City of Portland and Trimet are looking for ways to reduce delays to transit. A section of Tacoma Street from about SE 10th to SE 16th is one of 20 segments being considered for a pilot project.
