610-620PM: Update on 1944 & 2006 SE Tacoma: This project is in design review, the design was presented at our May meeting, SMILE submitted comments, and there is ongoing discussion between the architect, the City, and SMILE. The architect is making changes to improve the appearance from Tacoma. More information is at http://smilesellwood.wpengine.com/currently-under-development/ .

620-630PM: Update Oregon House Bill 2007: The SMILE Board of Directors decided not to send the letter opposing HB2007 proposed by the Committee or to take any position on HB2007.

630-700PM: Neighborhood contact meeting for 1832 SE Tacoma: A tri-plex apartment building located on the corner of 1832 SE Tacoma Street and SE 19th Ave is planned. This is an opportunity to discuss the project with the architect.

700-715PM: Update on development at 17th and Tenino (formerly Mikes): The City does not consider this site to be close to frequent transit and thus does not qualify for a parking exemption if affordable housing is provided. The developer has applied for an adjustment to the required parking (26 to zero parking spaces) in return for providing affordable housing. A land use notice will be issued once a parking study is completed.
