SMILE Land Use Committee Meeting

November 6, 2019 @ 6:00 pm - 7:15 pm

6:00 – 6:05 PM: Introductions.

6:05 – 6:45 PM: Neighborhood contact meeting for 8134 SE 11th (11th and Tenino).  A 19-unit, 3 story building on a 5,000 square foot lot with no parking.  This is an opportunity to discuss the project with the architect.

6:45 – 6:55 PM: Main Street, Better Housing by Design, and DOZA updates.

6:55 – 7:05 PM: Follow-up DOZA testimony: On October 30 Committee Chair David Schoellhamer attended a meeting with PDX Main Streets, BPS Director Andrea Durbin, and DOZA staff at which some ideas to implement PDX Main Street Design Guidelines were briefly discussed.  Because DOZA is being considered by the Planning and Sustainability Commission, staff suggested we submit the ideas as additional written testimony before November 15 so they can be considered by the Commission.

7:05 – 7:15 PM:  Opportunities and priorities for the Bureau of Planning and Sustainability: Committee Chair David Schoellhamer has been invited to a meeting with BPS Director Durbin to discuss this topic on November 18.  Let’s discuss what we want the Bureau to do. Think big.
