NET VOLUNTEER EXERCISE

This is a reminder that tonight, the Sellwood-Moreland/Eastmoreland/Brooklyn Neighborhood Emergency Team (NET) will be doing a training activity. The event will run from about 7 PM until 8:30. You may see our volunteers in their “gear” (orange vests; red backpacks and hard hats), traveling on foot from their homes to their designated staging areas. This is only a drill! 6:00 - 6:05 PM: Introductions. 6:05 - 6:40PM: Neighborhood contact for 5736 SE 17th Ave, the Tenth Church of Christ Scientist.  Architect Cody Johnecheck will tell us about a proposal to build 31 townhomes. 6:40 - 7:15PM: Discussion of the proposed conceptual framework for new Design Standards and Guidelines.  Architect John Schupp will help us understand this architecturally-based proposal.  We will decide what comments to submit to the City’s Design Overlay Zone Amendments Project that wrote the Tools Concept Report available at https://www.portlandoregon.gov/bps/70324 .

Friends of Sellwood Community Center Meeting

We will discuss the possibility of a haunted house as a fundraiser, and next steps in budget process.  We are also looking for a couple of people to help with activities for kids at Sundae In The Park.  It is held on August 5th from noon-5.  A 1-2 hour shift would be great.
