Springwater “Sellwood Gap” Paving Project

After years of careful planning, the City of Portland's efforts to pave the "Sellwood Gap"  in the Springwater Corridor Trail will get underway this month! Free Rose Pruning Class

Oaks Pioneer Church 455 SE Spokane St., Portland, OR

Come learn proper rose pruning techniques and help prune the roses at Oaks Pioneer Church.  The free class will be taught by OSU Extension Service Master Gardener Justin Dune.  Dress for the weather, and bring your hand pruners and rose gloves if you have them.  A quick phone call to let us know you plan to attend would be great -- 503-318-9743.  See you on Sunday afternoon!

Sellwood Bridge Traffic Calming – Open House

Impacts to neighborhood livability associated with non-local cut-through traffic accessing the Sellwood Bridge is a longstanding and increasing issue for residents near the bridge. This project proposes to mitigate those impacts through constructing speed bumps on select streets.  PLEASE PLAN ON STOPPING BY BETWEEN 6 PM AND 8 PM TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THE PROJECT AND PROVIDE YOUR COMMENTS.

Friends of Sellwood Community Center Meeting

Friends of Sellwood Community Center Meeting

Sellwood Community Center 1436 SE Spokane Street, Portland, OR

The community center is slated to be closed in September, 2019 in the current proposed budget by the Park Bureau.  The Friends committee will be planning our next steps in trying to save the center and to look at budgeting to see if it is feasible for SMILE to try and take over the program, if that becomes a possibility.  All are welcome to attend.
