The annual Johnson Creek Cleanup organized by the Johnson Creek Watershed Council is Saturday, August 21 from 8:30 am to 1 pm. Last year the pandemic limited the cleanup to the shore, but this year we’ll be back in the water. Last week I (Scott Kelly) walked the section from Johnson Creek Park upstream to Umatilla Street; there’s a lot of trash to clean up. There are several cleanup sites to choose from. I’ll be at the Johnson Creek Park Upstream site, which has some spots about 3’ deep, and some of the rocks are slippery. This site isn’t appropriate for young children. Feel free to opt for a different site if you’d be more comfortable.  There are also some dry-land sites.

The organization will provide all the equipment we need, and a burrito lunch delivered at the end of the cleanup.
