The annual Johnson Creek Cleanup organized by the Johnson Creek Watershed Council is Saturday, August 21 from 8:30 am to 1 pm. Last year the pandemic limited the cleanup to the shore, but this year we’ll be back in the water. Last week I (Scott Kelly) walked the section from Johnson Creek Park upstream to Umatilla Street; there’s a lot of trash to clean up. The SMILE  Stewardship of Natural Amenities Committee (SNAC) invites you to join us on August, 8/14, 8/21, and 8/28 from 9:00 - noon to finish weeding and mulching the Springwater Meadows pollinator garden at SE Marion Street and 9th Avenue in Sellwood.  This is a successful extension of Smile’s dedication to assist the birds, bees, and butterflies to thrive.
