About the Transportation Committee
The Transportation Committee focuses on transportation issues in the Sellwood-Moreland neighborhood. The Committee consists of all SMILE members (residents, businesses and owners of property in the neighborhood) who regularly attend meetings of the Committee. The Committee meets 6 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. on the Third Wednesday of every month. Unless otherwise noted, the meetings are at the SMILE Center, 8210 SE 13th Ave. If you have a transportation idea or concern on which you would like SMILE involvement, please ask that the issue be placed on the agenda for a Transportation Committee meeting and please attend that meeting to discuss your idea or concern. This ensures a fair opportunity for others to participate in discussion of the issue. The chair of the Committee is Brian Posewitz. You may contact him by phone at 503-432-8249, or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The best way to stay informed about activities of the Transportation Committee and neighborhood transportation issues in general is to join the Transportation listserv by clicking the “Lists” tab at the top of this SMILE website.
If you have a concern about traffic safety near you, a good place to start is to call the City of Portland “SAFE” line: 503-823-7233 (SAFE). A message left on that line will often lead to a traffic investigation if one has not already been done for the issue. If you have a concern about Sellwood Bridge construction and/or the management of traffic during construction, you may comment directly at sellwoodbridge.org. The chair of the Transportation Committee would appreciate receiving a copy of your comments at email@example.com.
Thank you for your interest in the Transportation Committee. We look forward to your further involvement.
