Old Sellwood Bridge Railing Unveiling
SMILE Station 8210 SE 13th Street, Portland, OR, United StatesThe last intact piece railing from the Historic Sellwood Bridge is finally nestled at the SMILE station, where everyone can view a part of our city's history. The railing was part of a larger neighborhood project to create art out of the old bridge and at the same time, raise money for public education. Come help us thank over 50 volunteers and the local businesses who made the bridge project possible, and to see Sellwood Middle School receive a check for over $5,000. DOZA will revise the design overlay in the zoning code which applies to most multifamily properties in SMILE and will apply to most commercial properties beginning in 2018, so it will significantly affect development in our neighborhood. Special Transportation Committee Meeting – Signal @ 6th & Tacoma
SMILE Station 8210 SE 13th Street, Portland, OR, United StatesPBOT Project Manager Rich Newland will attend the meeting to discuss issues with the new signal at SE 6th and Tacoma. At this meeting Rich would like to hear some of the neighborhood concerns and comments, and he’ll tell us how they’re going to proceed. This will be the first step, followed by collecting new traffic volume and speed data, and recommending improvements or changes.
