The 2024 Neighborhood Clean-up Day will be held on
Saturday, May 18, from 9am – 2pm at Westmoreland Park!
Each Spring, SMILE, in cooperation with Heiberg Garbage and Free Geek, sponsors an annual clean-up day. Residents can clean out their garages, attics, and basements and, for a small fee, leave their unwanted stuff at a drop-off point in Westmoreland Park.
What to bring:
- Bring all your throw-away junk, clean dimensional wood, yard debris, appliances, tires, unwanted furniture, metal, aluminum, etc. (No styrofoam recycling this year!)
- Free Geek personnel will be on-site for e-waste, assessment and processing (households only – no businesses). A separate donation will be accepted for e-wasted.
- There will be an on-site area to accept new/like new reusable items such as furniture, clothing and miscellaneous reusable items.
What NOT to bring:
Construction/demolition materials, styrofoam, any METRO prohibited material, including but not limited to:
food garbage, plaster, concrete, dirt, sheetrock, batteries or hazardous materials (paint, aerosol cans, liquids, etc.). Paint cans with lids off and dried paint are ok. No materials possibly containing asbestos!
