Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge Volunteer Event

Please join Portland Parks & Recreation and the Friends of Oaks Bottom for a day of mulching new plants and invasive plant removal at Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge.  We will mulching around native plants that were planted this past season to help with their survival and will potentially remove weeds to improve habitat for local wildlife. Please dress for the weather, wear layers, wear sturdy, close toe shoes, and bring a personal water bottle and snacks. Tools, gloves, and project instruction will be provided.

Registration is required:  To register, please fill out the registration form.

Meeting Location:  Oaks Wildlife Refuge North parking lot.  Look for white sandwich board “EVENT” signs with arrows directing you to our work site. The worksite is about a 5-10 minute walk down a paved path from the parking lot to the work site.

Parking: There is a small lot at the Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge. If parking lot is full, there is additional parking along the side streets of SE Milwaukie Avenue. Please allow for 10-15 minutes extra for parking.

Location Description: Our group will be working in a mostly flat area, with uneven terrain, and potentially standing water in some areas. There is a portapotty on site.
