DESCRIPTION:We’ll leave from the Sellwood Park parking lot (7th and Malden) and walk down the bluff to do a circuit of the wildlife refuge’s trails\, including the Springwater Corridor. Our focus will be on the birds and plants (native and non-native) in the refuge. \nNote that there are no restrooms along the route\, and there is a descent and ascent of about 60 feet on the bluff. Check the weather ahead of time\, and please come appropriately dressed. If you have binoculars\, please bring them! \nPlease RSVP  if you plan on coming. Make sure you give your full name and the number of people in your party. Interested youngsters are welcome\, but please leave your pet at home!

DESCRIPTION:6:00 p.m.            Introductions and Announcements – Scott Kelly\, Chair\, Transportation Committee. \n6:10 p.m.          Daylighting Intersections –To improve visibility\, pedestrian safety\, and to comply with State Law\, PBOT will move or install No Parking signs 20 feet from crosswalks (painted or not) at about 13 intersections in our neighborhood next fall or winter. They will also paint red curbs at daylighted intersections adjacent to schools. These priority intersections are in school zones and pedestrian districts. We’ll review the list and discuss any feedback SMILE would like to give PBOT\, including possibly requesting bike corrals in the vacated parking spaces. \n6:45 p.m.          Reedway Crossing – The Committee will discuss next steps to have this project included in the city’s Transportation System Plan\, with funding. \n6:55 p.m.          Outstanding Neighborhood Transportation Issues – The Committee will identify and prioritize outstanding transportation issues that have been brought to the committee over the past couple years. These will generally only move forward if an interested party comes to the meeting to champion the issue. These issues include requests to address speeding\, install stop signs\, and paint crosswalks\, among others. Interested parties should contact the Transportation Committee chair to let them know when they can attend this\, or a future meeting. \n7:05 p.m.          Future Agenda Items. \n7:15 p.m.          Adjourn.
