A grassroots group of neighbors have formed a new SMILE committee — Friends of Oaks Bottom. Here’s their latest news:
After pausing all work for a few months due to the pandemic, we are excited to host our next work-party on Saturday, March 6th from 9-11am in partnership with PP&R and SOLVE. Similar to previous events this will be a trash pick-up. For more details and to register, click here. Due to COVID-19, we are only able to have ten volunteers so spots will fill up quickly!
In other news, next month we will be starting a program to educate visitors to Oaks Bottom about the importance of keeping dogs on leash and staying on trails. Masked and in pairs, volunteers can sign up for a two hour shift. Volunteers will be provided with a zoom tutorial as well as fluorescent vests, and educational brochures. Please look for an update on this opportunity in the next few weeks.
Lastly, we now have a logo! Designed and created by local artist Cathy Ingram this logo encompasses many aspects of Oaks Bottom including flora and fauna such as a Great-blue Heron and an Oregon White Oak tree.
If you know anyone interested in being part of this group, please send their email and name to email@example.com.
