Land Use Committee, October Report
Oct 5th, 2009 by mat
We have quite a few proposals we’re working on this month.
5714 SE 15th Ave. This is the property proposed for subdivision into 4 very small lots. SMILE objected to this proposal on a number of points and held a neighborhood contact meeting with the owner and immediate neighbors at the SMILE Station on June 6. The City has sent out a revised Land Use Review Notice to deal with a setback issue along the front property line. Comments are due October 29, 2009.
Sellwood Sewer Pump Station. This is the Greenway Review for the sewer pump station which has been in the works for over a year. A lot has been done on this and it is coming down to the final planning stages. We have some concerns over the proposed Greeenway Trail and how it fits into this project as well as some concerns over potential noise impacts to nearby houses. David Allred from the City of Portland will be at the SMILE General Meeting on Wednesday, October 7, and we plan to address these issues with him. The due date for comments is October 9, 2009.
Replacement and Upgrading of Wireless Equipment at 6404 SE 23rd Ave. Comments are due on October 7, 2009. SMILE does not plan to comment on this proposal.
1911 SE Sherrett St. This property was approved for division into two lots in August, 2009 and now, because of the placement of the house which the owner has moved on to one of lots, there is insufficient room for the required on car parking without compromising the aesthetics of the property. Comments are due October 9, 2009. SMILE is considering a conditional response to this proposal.
Liquor License Application, 13 Degrees Celcius, 1665 SE Bybee. This establishment has filed an application for a liquor license. Comments are due by October 11, 2009.
Sale of Kasch’s to Les Schwab Tire Company. An adjoining neighbor has told us that the property at SE Tacoma and McLoughlin may have been sold to Les Schwab Tire Company. As this could have a significant impact on the neighborhood, SMILE will be keeping track of developments in this area. Anyone with more information about this should contact SMILE.
