Participants sought for August 8th Health Fair
A community health fair will be co-presented by Providence Milwaukie Hospital and Northwest Primary Care, on Saturday, August 8th, at the Meyer Boys and Girls Club on S.E. Milwaukie Avenue in Westmoreland. The event will be held in conjunction with the Sellwood-Westmoreland Business Alliance’s “Passport” event that day.
Local participants are being sought who would like to host a booth, on some of the possible subjects:
Ø Biking information and safety
Ø Lead poisoning/screening
Ø Basic health screenings
Ø Minimizing health risks during remodeling
Ø Disposal of outdated drugs
Ø Tap water testing
Ø Soil testing
Ø Gardening for health and cost savings
Ø Homemade home and food products (safe cleaners, breads, etc.)
Ø Free health resources
Ø Services for the elderly (safety, aging in place)
Ø Pharmaceutical information
Ø Walking information (local walking tours?)
Ø Demonstrations/classes (yoga, taekwon do, etc.)
Ø Gluten-free and lactose-free products
Ø And other ideas
Non-profits receive free booth space; commercial folks will pay a small fee.
